Description

Small unused openings in a tumbler lid can become leakage paths. A custom silicone plug can close a straw hole, vent opening or accessory port when that feature is not in use, while remaining removable for cleaning or reconfiguration.

The source part is an industrial port protector, so the tumbler version should be developed around the exact lid opening and the required beverage-contact standard. Its main value is the flexibility to add retention features that keep a small plug from working loose.

Retention Features for Small Lid Openings

  • Possible structures include internal ribs, multiple sealing lips and stepped diameters.
  • Pull tabs and retention grooves can be molded into the plug.

RFQ and Sample Review

For removable caps and plugs, specify both the installation fit and the desired pull-off force. The retention structure can then be tuned so the accessory stays in place during carrying but remains easy to clean or remove.
