Material Options for Tumbler Accessories

Material selection should be based on product function, contact conditions, temperature, hardness, chemical exposure, appearance, regulatory requirements and production process. We help buyers narrow the material range before tooling whenever possible.

Food-Contact Silicone Rubber

Silicone rubber is commonly used for tumbler boots, sleeves, gaskets, seals, straw accessories and grip components because of its flexibility, temperature resistance and broad colorability. Depending on the application, we can discuss food-contact grades, different hardness ranges, translucent or opaque colors and project-specific performance requirements.

Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR)

LSR is used where precision injection molding, repeatable processing, fine features or high-volume automation are important. It can be suitable for valves, sealing elements and complex functional components.

PP and Rigid Plastic Materials

Polypropylene (PP) is a common option for drinkware lids and related molded components. Other plastics may also be considered where transparency, stiffness, temperature performance or structural requirements differ. Final resin selection should be confirmed using the customer’s product conditions and required compliance documentation.

Multi-Material Design

When a component combines silicone with plastic or metal, material compatibility, mechanical locking features, surface condition, molding temperature and long-term use conditions must be considered together. Not every silicone/plastic pair is appropriate for direct overmolding, so feasibility review is recommended before tooling.
