Description
When a tumbler lid uses a conventional circular groove, a custom O-ring can be the most straightforward sealing solution. This product is centered on round-section silicone seals that maintain contact around the closure after repeated compression.
The source O-ring is used across several industries and is not specifically documented as food grade. For a drinkware application, the same molding geometry can be used, but the silicone compound and compliance documentation should be specified separately for the target market.
A Round-Section Seal for Simple Lid Grooves
- Circular O-ring geometry for uniform compression around a groove.
- Source attributes include elasticity, compression recovery and dimensional stability.
- Size, color, hardness and material formulation are customizable.
- Suitable for custom manufacturing from prototype through volume production.
- Drinkware projects should define the required food-contact grade and test conditions.
Typical Tumbler Applications
- Bottle-cap O-ring grooves
- Tumbler lid seals
- Threaded closure gaskets
- Removable cap seals
- Custom circular drinkware seals
What to Define Before Tooling
For a reliable quotation and mold review, the silicone part should be specified together with the mating lid or cup geometry. The most useful project inputs are:
- Inside diameter
- Cross-section diameter
- Groove width/depth
- Target squeeze
- Material compliance and cleaning conditions
RFQ and Sample Review
If you already have a lid drawing or an existing gasket sample, send the assembled dimensions as well as the seal groove details. We can use those inputs to review moldability and define a sample-confirmation plan before volume production.
