Description
A standard O-ring can shift or twist in a lid when the groove does not fully capture it. This double-tab gasket adds two locating features to the sealing ring, giving the designer a way to control orientation and reduce movement during assembly.
The tabs can align with posts, screws or molded locating features in the lid. That makes this geometry useful for unusual closures where the gasket must remain registered to a specific position rather than rotating freely around the opening.
Positive Gasket Location with Two Tabs
- Two integrated side tabs with mounting/positioning holes.
- Tab shape, position, thickness and hole diameter can be customized.
- Round, flat, lip-type or grooved sealing profiles are supported.
- Silicone hardness, elasticity and color are configurable.
- For drinkware use, define the required food-contact silicone grade during development.
Typical Tumbler Applications
- Keyed tumbler lid gaskets
- Asymmetric closure seals
- Gaskets retained by locating posts
- Custom cap assemblies
- Non-rotating drinkware seals
What to Define Before Tooling
For a reliable quotation and mold review, the silicone part should be specified together with the mating lid or cup geometry. The most useful project inputs are:
- Ring dimensions and profile
- Tab angle and spacing
- Mounting-hole diameter
- Retention method
- Material/compliance requirements
RFQ and Sample Review
If you already have a lid drawing or an existing gasket sample, send the assembled dimensions as well as the seal groove details. We can use those inputs to review moldability and define a sample-confirmation plan before volume production.
